“We don’t need to learn how to speak English – we need to know how to answer the questions!”
Is this you? You are not alone.
Many students have issues with the “Use of English” section of the FCE, CAE and CPE in the Cambridge English exams.
Talented speakers, listeners and writers can come unstuck because their confidence in the language can be undermined by a basic lack of understanding of the grammar on which this section concentrates. There is, of course, no substitute for hard work and the grammar has to be learnt.
Nevertheless, we think it is possible to unravel the mysteries of all parts of the exams by focussing students’ attention on what will be tested and how it will be tested.
Thus, the lessons include not only grammar, idioms, expressions and phrasal verbs etc but also how to identify when and where they are appropriate.
With this in mind, we have put together a series of lessons to help specifically with “Use of English” as well as offering tips and tricks in all areas of the exams.

1) Both teams are playing well so this should make ………. an entertaining game.
A. with B. for C. up D. through “
This is the fourth point out of a series of eight. So you can see that the lesson is thorough and supported by examples.
